Hands On! 4 week course to guide you through the techniques to create stunning flower paintings. Capture the beauty of nature. You will learn about colour-mixing brush techniques, layering, blending, and achieving depth.
The focus will be on composition, light, shade and texture. Your painting will be uniquely yours.
Each week you will paint a new picture. This is the perfect series to unwind creatively ad expand your artistic repertoire. Acrylic is a vibrant medium, full of opportunity for creativity and inspiration.
Acrylic Landscape Painting Beginner
Start a journey with this 4 week Beginners Acrylic Landscape Painting Course. You will discover the joy of capturing natural beauty on canvas with vibrant acrylics.
You will enjoy a focus on fundamental landscape elements such as realistic skies, ground tones, creating depth, and mastering basic brushstrokes for trees, water and clouds. You will learn to simplify complex scenes into manageable shapes.
We will arrange elements for visual interest, understanding the impact of light and shadow on a landscape and creating a sense of local landscape. Perhaps a peaceful lake or a rolling hill will be our inspiration.
You will apply the techniques you learn into your paintings, and develop your artistic vision, focusing on refining details and adding personal touches. By the end, you will have a foundation and the confidence to continue exploring scenery and working from photographs through your art. No prior art experience is necessary, just a passion and willingness to create.
Ballet Barre Beginners
You don’t need to be 10 years old or even wear a tutu to reap the benefits of ballet as an adult.
This 45 min class will take you through balance, strength, movement and mobilization on and off the classic ballet barre. We will be focusing on strength and isolation of body parts using classic ballet basics. This class is for everyone and anyone that wants to improve balance, stability and mobility all while learning and moving through classic ballet terms and basic ballet moves. No experience required! Come and take a “ballet breath” with Mandy on Mondays!
Bone Building Strength & Balance
This class will focus on improving bone and muscle strength through the use of small hand and ankle weights and resistance bands, as well as weight bearing yoga flexibility.
Specific exercises are also used to improve balance.
Susan Stevenson is certified thorough the Osteoporosis Canada Benefit program, and so this class is based on guidelines for appropriate movement in exercise.
Bridge
Those who play more frequently score higher on cognitive test. An area in the brain used in playing bridge stimulates the immune system. Researchers suggest that is because players must use memory, visualization and sequencing.
Latin Dance
Ready to spice up your nights and move with confidence? Merengue and Bachata are two of the most joyful and passionate Latin dances you can learn-the best part is, they’re beginner-friendly! Merengue is all about easy steps and playful energy, making it perfect for anyone to jump right in and start having fun. Bachata, on the other hand, is smooth, romantic, and full of rhythm, letting you connect with your partner while showing off your style.
Hamed discovered his passion for Latin dance in Vancouver back in 2011, and ever since, he’s loved teaching and inspiring new dancers to step onto the floor with confidence. Where your are looking to meet new people, stay active, or just add some excitement to your week, Merengue and Bachata will keep you smiling and moving to the beat!
Line Dancing
Intermediate – A cuing class incorporating steps learned in AB, Beginner Plus, and Improver levels. (Previous step instruction required)
Line Dance Intermediate Low- Traditional/Modern- A traditional class with a half hour add-on to learn to dance modern line dance styles including Tango, Fox Trot, Waltz, Irish, Country/Western. This is an intermediate class and some knowledge of steps are required.
Mentastics
Mentastics uses gentle non-invasive movements to free the body of pain, tension and to cultivate deep relaxation.
It is incredibly beneficial for anyone dealing with: general aches and pains, fibromyalgia, chronic daily pain, arthritis, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, depression, limited mobility, rigidity and tremors.

Qigong
Qigong involves the cultivation of energy and awareness through movement, posture, and breathing. The overarching goal of our Qigong practice is to enhance long-term quality of life.
Qi refers to the bio-magnetic energy found within all living things. It circulates in natural patterns through channels called meridians and vessels. Qigong leads energy through these channels helping to open up points blocked by physical, mental, or emotional stress.
We move to generate heat, stand to activate qi, and sit to quiet the mind. In so doing, our Qigong practice helps us to counter the negative effects of sedentary living and stress.
Function & Mobility
This class is a 45 min class with 15 min interval of strength training, stretching and cardio. Designed to give you a challenge and a full body workout.
Learn to Draw
Learn a few tricks to create pieces of art that will surprise even you. We will start with pencil and soon add pen. You will need sketch book, regular HB pencil, artists erasers and 2 black ink pens. This class is for beginners or people who just like to draw.
Yoga
Better Bones
Learn to create opportunities to build bone density and body-mind awareness through proper functional movement. Learn to identify where you hold tension and release through yoga breath, postures and relaxation. Increase strength, flexibility, balance, endurance while calming the mind.
Balance & Strength
This yoga philosophy of balance emphasizes achieving equilibrium in various aspect of life including physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions.
It involves harmonizing opposing forces, such as effort and relaxation, strength and flexibility , introspection and engagement. Giving stability in the body to help prevent falling
Chair
Participants in this class enjoy all the benefits of a traditional yoga class seated in a chair. the class is perfect for people who have difficulty moving easily from the floor to a standing position and provides them with the tools needed to relax and release restrictions from the body, enjoying freer movement. Participants will also benefit from improved strength, flexibility, balance and pain management skills.
Gentle
This slower moving class focuses on proper alignment and breathing practices that restore energy levels and help undo tensions and areas of injury to the body. Each class is a combination of yoga movement, breath work and mediation which help the participant understand the role tension plays in the discomfort and restrictions in their body. With that, the participant will develop the ability to release those tensions, resulting in freer and more comfortable movement.
Stretch & Strength
Welcome to an opportunity to explore proper breathing patterns, move functionally and settle into learning relaxation techniques. Are you looking for a yoga class that will lengthen/strengthen/tone and shape muscles while building body awareness? This class will be more active and a level that requires moving on a yoga mat and relaxing on your back. Yoga props are used to support your movements.
Yin-Yang
There is a yin aspect of life and a yang aspect. Yin cannot exist with Yang, nor can Yang exists without Yin, they compliment each other. In Yin yoga we focus on the Yin tissues of the body, ligaments, bones and joints. It is in the Yin part of our practice, the holding of the pose that provides length. In the Yang yoga we focus on the Yang tissues of the body, muscles, blood and skin. It is in the Yang part of our practice, much care is taken to align the body and engage our muscles correctly to create strength and stability.
Yin-Yang are opposites, Yin describes the shade side of the mountain, the north and Yang describes the sunny side, the south. Together they make the WHOLE.. it is in this WHOLENESS that because our main pursuit in Yin-yang yoga.
