Special Events/Fundraising

There are many special events held at Mapleridge through out the year with the primary purpose of fundraising to meet our facility/programming needs for older adults.  In order to prevent burnout of volunteers, individual volunteers can help at one or more events.  Your skills and talents will be appreciated.  You have the opportunity to help with an event that highly interests you, motivates you or that you have experience or skills in.

  • Assist with special events by attending fundraising meetings
  • Be a consistent, contributing member to an event team
  • Good planning and organization skills
  • Share ideas and comments
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in complicated situations
  • Calm in times of stress
  • Good conflict management skills

Experience

  • Past event planning experience or with entertainment, decorations, marking, ticket sales, foo, set-up

Time Commitment

8-40 hours depending on the event
